New Prime Minister Erik Jörgen Stenberg Appointed

WOTAN CITY, Lad. — The Royal Republic of Ladonia has formally welcomed Erik Jörgen Stenberg as its new Prime Minister, following the resignation of Frans Brood in late October 2021 after just over a year in office. Prime Minister Brood stepped down amid national mourning after the tragic loss of State Secretary Lars Vilks and expressed his wish to dedicate himself to his role as Minister of Improvisational Theatre and Free Entry.

In her address to the citizens and the Cabinet of Ministers, the Queen acknowledged Prime Minister Brood’s contributions during a tumultuous time. “Prime Minister Brood led with creativity and resilience, and We thank him sincerely for his unwavering service to Ladonia. We wish him continued success in his ministerial role.”

To provide stability during the interim period, Baron Matthew Salzer, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Freedom of Religion, Irreligion, and Grappling, was appointed Prime Minister ad interim by Letters Patent dated 24 October 2021. His leadership during this period ensured that the Cabinet could focus on essential governance tasks, including managing citizenship applications and coordinating with Swedish authorities to protect Nimis and Arx.

After a careful and transparent selection process, Erik Jörgen Stenberg was chosen to serve as Prime Minister for the remainder of the term, which will conclude on 1 January 2025. A respected public servant and experienced administrator, Stenberg’s appointment was met with widespread support from both the Cabinet and Ladonian citizens.

Prime Minister Stenberg has served Ladonia for many years as the Minister of Karaoke and the Ambassador to Malta and Lapland. Residing in Malta, he has become known for his diplomatic acumen and commitment to fostering international cultural ties.

In his inaugural address, Prime Minister Stenberg emphasized his commitment to upholding Ladonia’s unique cultural identity and governmental transparency. “It is an honor to serve Ladonia as Prime Minister.
