December 27: The Day of Throwing Things at Each Other (Usually Beer Cans)

A Tradition of Whimsy and Controlled Chaos

WOTAN CITY, Lad. — As December 27th dawns in Ladonia, citizens prepare for one of the nation’s most exuberant and unconventional holidays: The Day of Throwing Things at Each Other (Usually Beer Cans). This day, steeped in Ladonian humor and creativity, invites citizens to safely hurl lightweight objects at one another in the spirit of camaraderie and fun.

While the tradition’s origins remain shrouded in mystery (and possibly a miscommunication about waste disposal), the event has grown into a beloved celebration of Ladonia’s playful ethos. Participants are encouraged to bring their most inventive and harmless projectiles—anything that won’t cause bodily harm but will inspire laughter.

Official Recommendations for Things to Throw:

  • Cooked and cooled pasta
  • Marshmallows
  • Pillows
  • Rolled-up socks
  • Shade

In English: “The Day of Throwing Things is about joy, creativity, and connection. Whether you’re tossing marshmallows or metaphoric shade, remember that safety and humor are paramount.”

Citizens are encouraged to post photos of their most creative projectiles on social media using the hashtag #LadoniaThrowingDay.

As always, the government emphasizes the importance of throwing responsibly. Participants are kindly asked not to throw things at pets, especially not cats — they know where you sleep. Beer cans, though traditional, should be empty and preferably soft (e.g., crushed or foam replicas). Overenthusiastic participants are urged to exercise restraint and aim for laughs, not injuries.

To those planning their throws, remember: It’s not just about what you throw but how you throw it—with humor, goodwill, and a little Ladonian flair.
