OAKWOOD HOUSE — On the 20th of December 2024, The Queen has been graciously pleased to make the following temporary appointment to Her Majesty’s Household:
His Grace the Most Noble Duke Yvan Bertjens, SC, MFA to be Lord Great Chamberlain
His Grace’s remit will run from 0000 hours to 2300 hours on 01 January 2025.
The Lord Great Chamberlain is responsible for the organization of all ceremonial activities such as garden parties, royal weddings and funerals, state visits, the State Opening of Parliament, and the Introduction of the Prime Minister to the Nation and to the State Council. In his role as Lord Great Chamberlain, His Grace will oversee the Ceremony of Introducing the new Prime Minister Theresa Villeneuve to the State Council and to the Remony.
