Historic Summit Strengthens Ties Between Hershwell and Ladonia

TAIPEI, Taiwan — On March 8, 2024, a historic summit took place at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, marking a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the Principality of Hershwell and the Royal Republic of Ladonia. The summit featured Prince Paul I of Hershwell, Prime Minister Justin Tsai, and Foreign Secretary Otto Wang, who welcomed Her Majesty Queen Carolyn and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Greta of Ladonia. The Foreign Minister of Huajiangstan, Nichika Yuujin, was also in attendance.

This landmark event underscored the commitment of Hershwell and Ladonia to fostering a more collaborative micronational environment globally. The summit included discussions on strengthening bilateral friendship and exploring new avenues for cooperation.

Cultural and linguistic exchanges were a vibrant part of the summit, showcasing the rich, intertwined heritage of Hershwell. Given Hershwell’s unique position in East Asia, with deep influences from Hokkien, Hakka, and Aboriginal communities, as well as Japan and China, the interactions were marked by multilingual dialogue in Mandarin, English, Taiwanese Hokkien, and Hakka. Notably, the Crown Princess, who speaks Mandarin, actively participated in these exchanges, further enhancing the cultural connection between the nations.

Following the official discussions, the delegates enjoyed dinner at a Japanese Yakiniku restaurant. In a light-hearted moment, Prince Paul I accidentally launched a lemon at Prime Minister Tsai, adding a touch of humor to the evening. The incident did not overshadow the summit’s success, as the delegates shared a laugh and continued their discussions in good spirits.
