WOTAN CITY, Lad. — The Minister of Home Affairs, Erik, Duke of Southmoor, announced today that Theresa Villeneuve, Minister of Poker, has been elected as the next Prime Minister of the Royal Republic of Ladonia. Minister Villeneuve’s term will officially begin on 1 January 2025, following the regularly scheduled leadership election.
The Prime Minister is elected by the Cabinet of Ministers from among its members, a system established when Ladonia transitioned from a Presidential system in 2019. Minister Villeneuve will succeed Jörgen Stenberg, who has served as Prime Minister since January 2022. This marks the fourth time a Prime Minister has been elected under the current system, reflecting Ladonia’s commitment to orderly leadership transitions and effective governance.
Preparations are underway for the ceremonial transition of office, with Her Majesty, Queen Carolyn, receiving formal notice from the Minister of Home Affairs earlier today. Further details regarding the swearing-in ceremony will be announced in the coming days.
