Ladonia Foundation Recognized as Public Charity by U.S. Government
OAKWOOD HOUSE, LADONIA — The Ladonia Foundation has reached a significant milestone in its mission to support and preserve the artistic and cultural heritage of the Royal Republic of Ladonia. After months of extensive work led by the Home Office, the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has officially designated the Foundation as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization under section 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
This designation confirms the Ladonia Foundation as a U.S.-recognized public charity, allowing contributions from U.S. donors to be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The ruling strengthens the Foundation’s capacity to raise funds in support of its core mission: the maintenance, protection, and promotion of Nimis, Arx, and Ladonia’s broader cultural initiatives.
“This recognition reflects both the seriousness of our efforts and the international respect for Ladonia’s artistic legacy,” said His Grace the Duke of Southmoor, Minister for Home Affairs. “We are pleased the IRS found our application compelling and well-documented, and we look forward to pursuing similar nonprofit status in Sweden and the European Union on behalf of our citizens and supporters abroad.”
The Ladonia Foundation operates independently of any government funding and relies on the generosity of citizens, friends, and art lovers around the world to carry out regular maintenance trips, provide visitor information, and preserve the integrity of Ladonia’s unique physical landmarks. The Foundation’s newly formalized tax-exempt status in the United States will allow it to better support these efforts.
Donations may be made through the Foundation’s official site at https://www.ladonia.org/foundation/.
