Queen Issues Statement on the 80th Anniversary of VE Day
OAKWOOD HOUSE — In solemn recognition of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, Her Majesty Queen Carolyn of Ladonia issued a formal statement reflecting on the historic end of the Second World War in Europe and the enduring legacy of peace.
Her Majesty called upon all Ladonians to “reflect with reverence” on the events of May 8, 1945, when the announcement of peace marked a turning point for the continent and the world. The Queen acknowledged the courage and sacrifice of those who stood against tyranny and defended liberty and human dignity.
“VE Day reminds us of the immeasurable cost of conflict and the unshakable strength of those who stood together in its darkest hours,” Her Majesty stated. “As we remember the fallen and honour the living, may we continue to pursue peace with equal resolve and compassion.”
The Queen’s message aligns Ladonia with commemorations across Europe and the broader international community in honouring this significant date in modern history.
