Former PM Frans Brood Appointed Officer of the Order of Ladon
STRANDENSKOGPALATSET — As part of the New Year’s Honours List, the Crown announced the appointment of Frans Brood, Minister for Improvisational Theatre and Free Entry and former First Prime Minister of Ladonia, as an Officer of the Order of Ladon.

The appointment was conferred in recognition of distinguished, sustained, and ongoing service to the Crown and the Ladonian Nation.
The same Honours List also included the appointment of Fredrik Larsson, Minister of Art and Jump and former President of Ladonia, who was recognized for his long-standing and ongoing contributions to the preservation and care of Nimis.
Brood, who is originally from Hamburg, Germany, noted that under traditional Hanseatic principles, members of the Hanseatic League would not typically accept decorations that might be seen as violating principles of equality or constituting ostentatious display. As a citizen of Ladonia, however, he chose to accept the honour and to reflect publicly on its meaning.
In remarks following the announcement, Brood said:
“In a world of galloping madness, something as sensible as Ladonia — a global community united by creativity and cultural exchange — is, with its creativity and the right to free speech, a true ‘Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.’
In a time when these values seem to be forgotten in some places, Ladonia and its people can be the flutter of a butterfly, starting a tornado. Ladonia is small, but many small people can do small things and change the world. Let us begin today.”
